What is a manuscript evaluation?
A manuscript evaluation is a high level review of your novel or book, but not the kind of review you get from a book critic or reader.
It’s a detailed technical evaluation of how you’ve executed the story and what you can do to improve it.
This high level overview of your manuscript is performed by an experienced editor – but it not an edit.
It flags issues with such aspects as:
- story structure
- characterisation
- readability
- use of language, and
- grammar.
The report you’ll receive will be detailed, explaining how and why certain issues are hurting your manuscript.
You will likely be given lots of homework to improve it.
